Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how KODO^ ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects information when users connect repositories through GitHub App features and use KODO^ services.

1. Scope and Applicability

This policy applies to information processed through KODO^ websites, APIs, and GitHub integration features related to KODO^, including repository linking, synchronization, and display of project/log content.

2. Information We Collect

We may collect and process the following categories of information:

  • GitHub account and installation metadata (e.g., installation ID, account/repository identifiers).
  • Repository metadata (owner, repository name, visibility settings, linkage status).
  • Content from designated files (e.g., markdown files under KODO/).
  • Operational and diagnostic logs needed for service stability, security, and troubleshooting.

3. Purpose of Use

Information is used only as necessary to:

  • Provide repository connection, synchronization, and public/private presentation features.
  • Display project pages, activity feeds, and related KODO^ outputs.
  • Maintain security, prevent abuse, and improve reliability/performance of the service.
  • Respond to user support requests and operational inquiries.

4. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use strictly necessary cookies to operate core functions (e.g., session continuity, security, consent state). Non-essential cookies (including analytics/measurement cookies) are used only after you provide consent where required by law.

You can accept or reject non-essential cookies on first visit and can change your choice anytime via "Cookie Settings" in the footer.

5. Access Scope and Permissions

Access is limited to repositories selected by the user during GitHub App installation. Users are encouraged to grant the minimum required permissions and select only required repositories (principle of least privilege).

6. Private Repositories and User Responsibility

Private repositories may be connected. Users are solely responsible for determining what information is placed in synchronized files. Users should avoid including secrets, credentials, or sensitive personal data in content intended for publication.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain data only for as long as reasonably necessary for service provision, legal compliance, dispute resolution, and security. Users may request unlinking or deletion as applicable. Some records may be retained when required by law or legitimate operational needs.

8. Third-Party Services

Our services rely on third-party platforms (including GitHub). Their independent terms and privacy policies also apply to data processed within those platforms.

9. Security Measures

We implement reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect data from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. However, no internet-based service can guarantee absolute security.

10. Policy Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date.

11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

This policy and any disputes arising out of or in connection with KODO^ services shall be governed by the laws of Japan. The Tokyo District Court shall have the exclusive jurisdiction as the court of first instance, unless otherwise required by applicable law.

12. Contact

For privacy-related requests or questions, please contact the project owner or designated support channel.
